Like many “up-and-coming” neighborhoods around the world (though I’m pretty sure Getsemani is already here), the Getsemani district in Cartagena was formerly a high-crime area that has since been transformed into a tourist hotspot. There are plenty of hostels, bars and restaurants (we recommend Café del Mural for an afternoon cold brew) situated among Getsemani’s colorful streets replete with beautiful murals.
